Martin Garrix and U2 “Fireflies” song lyrics

Few expected one of the biggest surprises of Tomorrowland Belgium to come from U2. During Martin Garrix's headline set at the festival in Boom, Antwerp, fans were treated to the debut of a previously unheard track, "Fireflies," credited in performance footage to Martin Garrix and U2.

The appearance became even more significant when The Edge joined Garrix on stage, while Bono's unmistakable vocals carried the song.

Martin Garrix and U2 “Fireflies” song lyrics

The collaboration immediately sparked speculation among fans: is "Fireflies" simply a one-off partnership between the Dutch DJ and Ireland's biggest rock band, or could it offer an early glimpse into U2's long-awaited next studio album?

This writer suspects it is a song for Garrix's new album rather than a song that will be on the U2 record.

I can feel I can move I can feel the undertow I can hear the river flow Laughing at us as we go The present and the vanishing The Divine in everything In the air your summer dresses left me floating Fireflies, you and I are fireflies Fireflies, you and I are fireflies

Eagle eyed (!) listeners will note that fireflies is mentioned in City of Blinding Lights. Check out Silencio and Street of Dreams.
